@sicilian - what image are you using at the moment? Which one do you recommend...

You say "Once setup I ftp'ed standard Enigma 2 settings to the receiver and reloaded channel lists" is this a file you just upload to a particular location..? Is this a list or file that you can share? Assuming the same image is used.

I'm using the OpenPLi image as its got all the plugins u need such as CCcam, XMLTV EPG grabber plugin and some other stuff.

Enigma 2 settings are you channel settings / bouquets. I can post these if you require. The channel settings you use will much depend on your setup e.g. Rotor dish, fixed dish etc..

I've also tried the Original images 2.4, 2.5 and 2.6, they're very nice and can be moddified to enable more plugins by ftp'ing the attached VTI-Feed.conf to /etc/ipkg/ This will enable you to install CCcam from the addons menu.

I've mainly stuck with the PLi image because of the layout and EPG plugin, tbh I've always been pro PLi for dreambox images.

I am a total newb, have a vu+ duo but no dish. Ive even flashed my box with the 28th Jan PLi image. lol

I'm assuming you will be using a DiSEqC motor, so only one of the feeds will go through the motor to rotate the dish, so you will have to be careful with your tuner settings. Cant think what the correct settings should be. I'll post back later with the correct settings as I'll need to look at the settings.

I'll also post some E2 settings for you tonight / tomorrow.

Good thinking fella....

I was going to select the Advanced option and then Select 0.8 W thor for both Tuners. You think that will do it? I will be using the Technomate 2600 motor (That is DiSEqC - i think ?). I dont have any meters or anything tooo and will be hanging my own dish.... lol. I was going to select the tuners as mentioned above and then use satfinder to lock to the correct satellite. Am i thinking along the correct lines/method?

Tuner A is set to positioner, dont forget to add you long & latt settings.

Tuner B is set to - Secondary cable from motorized LNB.

I have now managed to insall the VTI image looks nice and so far seems stable i did have a couple of small issues at first.

first problem was ftping to the box DCC will not connect with VTI image so used filezilla all sorted.

Second problem was epg loader no option to install XMLTV loader so did that manualy by ftping files to tmp then instaling using telnet all working well now.

I have decided to leave it at that for now as i have run out of time to play will install barry allen next weekend and have a play with that.

@ bob, settings that i've been using attached. Transfer them with Dreambox edit. Make sure multiple bouquets are enabled in settings > customise.

Transfer the attached VTI-Feed.conf to /etc/ipkg so you can get some extra addons.

The XMLTV plugin is only in the OpenPLi beta images. I've been using build dated 29/01/10, been 100% stable.

FTP username is root password leave blank (DCC like to see dreambox as the password for some reason) Other FTP progs leave password blank.

Another little tip, if your using the original image in order to set full 1080i you need to install the video plugin in addons menu.

Personally I wouldn't use the VTI team image yet as recordings doesn't work. They due to release a new image soon. I can post a link to their image as its in their forums.

Latitude is 52:02:00N 52.00000
Longitude is 1:08:45W -1.1400

Values jumbeled above....Im ok to input the Lat 52.000 in but how do i put the Longitude in as a negative number?

Lat = 52 degrees, 39.4 minutes North
Long = 1 degrees, 8.8 minutes West

I get the above...

So i guess from the above it is rounding off and not using .6568 and .1463. Should i enter the decimals...?
