I dont know anything about the kryptview box , if its the n2 keys your talking about.Is there any menu you could look at that would show you the keys?Like on the dreambox.

Then you better download IDA Pro and some data sheets.

Forget the KV box, its already been tried !

As HackMax has hinted, unless you start disassembling large chunks of the firmware and actually understand the code then you've got little chance of extracting keys from this box.

Also if do manage to get the keys this way and there is a key change your possibly still screwed if the Kryptview is not updated or they change there way of storing the keys. It's better to learn to compromise a card in the long run.

itgate fix is suppose to be out this week for irl, maybe this will help us dreambox owners because its a linux based box.

No, there were quite a few of the top checkers that didn't pick up anything. There may be some false positves from some of the others but its still worth mentioning.

I tend to use an online checker that runs a set of 15 or so scanners on all files i'm wary of.

A good one is -

Another useful hint is to run all programs of a dubious nature in a virtual machine. That way, even if they do infect something you can just delete the infected vm in the dure knowledge your PC has not been affected.

tbh, most virus checkers aren't worth the expense. The majority of them only have around a 75-80% detection rate of genuine virii. You may as well just sandbox the programs in a VM and see what happens.

Problem with virus checkers is that they give you a false sense of security. Plain fact of the matter is that none of them is anywhere near perfect and you'll be lucky to detect anything more than the most common virii. The number of times i've come across PC's with infections even though they are running fully up to date detectors is truly amazing !

Virus detectors are mostly ok unless your are downloading and running dodgy stuff. Dodgy is just about anything from newsgroups and/or P2P networks as well as most of the download sites. TV hacking stuff seems to be especially virus riddled !

....anyway, think i'm getting a bit off topic here

a continuation of the post #60, I did a reset and my card is also a revA07.
What can I do to help out, I have a DB7000, original UPC box with card(valid) and a multiprog 2001 XL. I want to sh*re this card with my brother.

Unfortunately, the card has been updated to RevA07 so there's not a lot you can do with it. The A07 firmware has had code included which makes glitching nigh-on impossible.
