Cardsharing on technomate 6900 6800 super with SSSP and 8281

Hi,

I want connected with newcamd client (tm-6900super) to newcs server (dreabox7000)

What must do to add newcamd client in newcs ? Somebody has an example newcs.xml ??

Excellent Guide, TM 6900Super, I cant get past network errors
I pick up ip address in DHCP on TM through cross over ethernet, from my PC which I have bridged to my wifi internet connection. I have a known good server which I have tested using a serial nul modem connection to the same pc with same internet connection, running WSP and it clears fine.
The ethernet side is doing my head in,
I have turned off SSSP, on TM
I go 8281, using same server detail which works for WSP are entered which is an IP host not .com etc
I go connect and on my PC I see internet traffic packets out and some are recieved, but after a few seconds I only see network error.
I have loaded differnt patches including the latest, but always the same.
Is the TM flakey on ethernet !!!!
Thanks for any advice...
Mart

Some things to check first :
- Check your DESKEY and the Login / Pass ?
- Are you sure yr IP DNS settings are set right ?
- Are you sure the gateway has been set properly ?
- I see you have bridged yr connection with yr pc . It is not a good way to do !
>>> You have 2 networks : 1 - WIFI 2- Ethernet
>>>> Routing Table on PC should route all traffic coming from interface 2 towards interface 1
>>>> Yr technomate should use the ethernet(2) ipadress given on PC as gateway.
>>>> Give yr technomate the same DNS which is given on WIFI (1)on PC (look it up with ipconfig)

Wolftje, Thanks for taking time out to reply and help me out, I am not happy with bridge solution myself, unfortunately up to now I dont have direct access to the wifi router, however all changes on monday when I can connect directly to one of the ethernet ports on my new D-Link. (straight thru cable)
I will however take your advice in the mean time and check all the things you recommend.
I am happy that you dont seem to think the ethernet solution on the TM'S is flakey, so its just a config issue by the look of things...
I am using a paid server as I dont have any cards to share, and most of the free stuff (there seems to be loads) changes, or seems to go down very quickly.
This is a new departure for me, up to now been down cards, cams and emulators, right back to the good old days of D2Mac, but I think that, for now, this is the future.
Many thanks again for your support.

I have had a Technomate 6900 super for a while now and have finally connected it to my router. However, where do I go from here? I would like to try and connect to a server (free or paid) to see if I can understand it. Could someone please outline what I have to do and the settings required etc i.e Host, address, user, pass etc to get connected. I have read through the forum and it seems that the Technomate can be connected to a server, but I would really like to understand how to do it.
Any help would be most appreciated. Many thanks.

Did you ping the server to see if it was active? Some servers work one minute and are gone the next.

Munkey
Yes M8, tried it loads of times, also made sure I could ping through my setup by replacing the TM with a laptop on the end of the ethernet and pinging from that....I have also tried it through my 3 usb dongle to replace the wifi internet connection....
Its wierd but I know its nearly working as the nework error prompt waits until I have seen packets in and out of my WIFI connection increment.
I am hoping that on monday when I get access to the router and go into one of the ethernet ports, then it will work properly...
I have loaded lots of different software versions on my TM but they all seem the same...
I am sure its just a config issue, as WSP works with my TM, although not as gracefull as the ethernet solution
cheers for any advice anyway.
Great forum by the way, its good to have one that you can ask the questions..

Great thread...

Now please let me know if I have got this right...

I have a DM500 running CCcamnewcs, and I can setup a share using newcs and share the contents of my DM500 with my TM6900HD and be able to view HD channels...??

If so, I will be on it right away....

Thanks.

the only problem ive had with it as a slight glitch about every 10 seconds when viewing certain uk providors channels, other than that its working fine

hi
has any one managed to get a connection with a technomate 6900 combo s through the bt homehub .
is there an idiots guide how to connect or any straight forward explaintion .
i have set the port forwarding on the homehub .... but all i get in the end is network error.
anyone please with the same setting . i would be very thankful if he can inlight me with bit of info .
thanks guys this is a great forum

you dont need to forward any ports as you are a client m8, if you are getting network error, check the IP settings, and that DCHP is turned on in your router

Can confim, I was struggling to connect my TM6900, but today got access to the router, plugged into a spare ethernet port on the back (dlink g624t) and connected with straight through ethernet, went to IP settings on the TM, and see that I pick up IP using scan, then 8281 and instead of the dreaded network error I get connected Viaccess....brilliant...seems like keep it simple is best....thanks for help here....Mart

hi digidude
i have noticed that the ip adress on the box keep changing. shall i change it on the router setting as well.
sorry for being daft but i just can't get it working.
by the way the box is pinged fine to the pc .
thanks for your help

the ip address on the box changes whenever either your box or router restarts (or after 300 mins for some routers) as the router will issue a new ip, you can get round this by manually entering the same details and turning off dchp on the TM, but this could cause network clashes with other computers connected to your router

I get round this by leaving DHCP turned ON in the 6900 and assigning a static IP address to the 6900 in my router. This is often under "Address Reservation" or "Assigned IP Addresses" in your router. That way your router will always assign the same IP address to your router (or any other device connected to it) based on its MAC address. It may sound complicated but once you've done it for one device you'll find it easy to do the same for others. If port forwarding is ever needed on the 6900 (and hopefully one day it will ;)) then this will come in handy for ensuring the 6900 always has the same IP address.
