Erm, sorry I just don't understand your statement, I got the email because I subscribe to Hitnews and I am UK, and my client connects to hitnews servers I assure you.

Astraweb gets my vote:The payg suits me 110gb for £12.50
I got the email too and when I clicked on login I was redirected to :: Xennews ::
You’ve been redirected to this page because Hitnews.EU no longer supports international customers. We’d like to explain ourselves.
The reason is actually very simple and involves, as always, money. International traffic is very expensive. We didn’t realize this when we started but it turned out our international customers were actually costing us money.
So we had to do something about this. One option was to just block all international traffic and continue as a dutch provider. But we wanted to keep our loyal international customers satisfied so we set up the website you’re on right now: Xennews.Com.
So UNLIMITED at £8 a month doesn't suit you?
PMSL..
I can download your limit in less than 48 hours!
No thanks.
understood that perfect.SSL is secure socket layer, and it means your traffic is encrypted and so can't be traced by your ISP for example.
Newsgroup servers only have finite space, with the older stuff being replaced all the time by new stuff. If you imagine it as a conveyor belt new stuff goes at the beginning and old stuff drops off the end, retention is the length of the belt, if you like.
So something posted 160 days ago would not be available on the ngroups server but would be still on the hitnews and giganews as they are 200+ day retention.
Hope this helps,
Messa
