ok...do me a favour...delete the keys that you put in the nagra file before the fix....then reboot it and let me know if gbox updates itself ? cheers
u can always put them back in after ... ))

ok, deleted keys from nagra files, box went off, tried a few different emu switches, nothing, in the end up ihad to ftp the key codes into the nagra files again, rebooted and ok, have rebooted several times and works ok, so in the end i think you have to ftp them into the nagra files so the box boots up ok, maybe one of the more technical guys will confirm this, in the end i,m quite happy as it works ok for me, cheers night all

ok...so gbox does not update...which confirms what this thread is all about lol
which means when keys roll in the future gbox will not work unless u manually input the new roll into the nagra file,
back to evocam then lol

just realised i had turned the auto update off when i put the keys in last week, will turn it back on tomorrow and see what happens, its been a long day

A little bit of info on the gbox front the last update in my area was march the 18th tried blanking nagra 10 days prior to these problems and noticed then wouldnt make an update nagra stayed blank had to put the march one back which worked all the way through until the recent problems.

@Paphosal The reason why some work with gbox only is that it requires a zapit with pmt update enabled in like my Blade and Andromeda has and then enable pmt update in the menus then works fine as a stand alone cam m8

Hope this helps

Cheers

You learn something new every day on dbox, LOL! Thanks for that info, Xenafan. As camd2 is only a tiny little file, it never really bothered me that much, it was just something that made me wonder.

@mgb: The gbox restart in telnet is gushing out data so fast, it's hard to capture it. I'll try this again in a puTTY session this morning, and try and grab the P/P data for you to look at.

Yes mine have stayed blank while the keylist would update with one incorrect key. If gbox did autoupdate incorrectly, at least it would be one digit to only enter.

I have found the nagra file is not case sensitive to the codes, while keylist.txt is. Another idea would be going into tuxbox commander, copy keylist.txt and renaming it nagra then edit it so it works. Some might find redoing those brackets & stuff easier than all the codes.

Also if you want to test nagra or keylist.txt you can make a backup copy via tuxcom, and not have to ftp back on correct files at all.

Andromeda 2.0 seemed to hold onto a few keys that came in last night. I heard there may have been 4 keyrolls in dublin. I put in the updated 7, 10, 11 files. 11 got the code wrong, I think 10 does too, will have to check later.

When you say some work with gbox does that mean a box can reboot running gbox and still work? Is this enable pmt in each emu setting? or which where specifically in andromeda. pressing blue, and blue again to get into the andromeda menu?

Or if the keys roll do I have to switch to evocam, get them, then switch to gbox?

I put andromeda on my mates VERY chirpy sagem. It was going fine with evocam for 10mins. He went home and it began to chirp. I had found if I am on evocam and change to gbox while booted it will work. But I am unsure if gbox is really running at all, nagra is still blank and it will not work upon rebooting.

My mate changed to gbox while still on, but it still chirped. Tonight he is going to wait until it starts chirping, change to gbox, reboot and see if it chirps on a FTA.

I am not sure if chirping is a hardware or emu, ucode etc issue.

There is now a gbox feature in a neutrino dreambox image, and the creator, cryogenic said it should be able to work on a dbox.

If gbox can AU why add an option to copy keys from evocamd/mgcamd?

Any version of gbox should decode ok with correct keys in the Nagra file, can someone try and find out what version of gbox is in your images.

I'm trying to work out if gbox itself needed a patch or just needed the patched roms, also as it has internal rom code when you drop in the patched rom do they need a special name like rom11.b (.b as in secondary?) or do .bin files work?

Finally does anyone know if a gbox card / "rom" server can be configured to accept connections from radegast or newcamd protocol (v5) clients? Is EMM supported in this mode? I can't see any options for this in the cwshare file so i assume gbox only supports it own protocol???

Thanks

Yes, there would be no need. But I have yet to see anybody definitely say gbox is working properly. By properly I mean you boot up on gbox with an empty nagra file and it creates the correct nagra file keys. I have yet to see anybody claim it does this.

This is not in doubt. I have not heard any claims of gbox not working with the correct nagra file & keys.

Sorry for stating the obvious, just trying to pin down what people mean by "working". I found a gbox x86 pack containing a nagra.rom dir full of binaries which suggests it has AU'd on some nagra provider at some point in time, not much to go on but its all I've got at the moment... (Q violin music) lol

yep, same here. My mate got my andromeda converted to 1x and put it on his very chirpy sagem. It autoupdated with evocam and he manually put the keys in nagra, it worked fine since then on gbox. It was chriping on evocam

Seems the key transfer function which I am guessing gets code from keylist.txt and transfers to nagra can "easily" be put on a dbox. I have no idea but hopefully somebody will do it soon.

I'm pretty sure the ROM image is included in gbox when it's compiled, so if someone has the source code, it may be possible to change the ROM image prior to compiling. I'm 99% sure that no existing gbox (well prior to last week anyway) will currently A/U on UK Cable.

andromeda v2 for sagems

hi guys i am using the andromeda v2 on tw using gbox cam.....
the only thing i had to do to my box was ftp the 3 nagra(7/10/11) files to my keys folder and the box came back on within seconds of me overwriting the old files.....not had a problem with gbox cam as this is the only emu that actually works on my dbox(only one watchable cos of chirpiness).. so i suggest u try the imagre i use as it works faultlessley.........

not altered anything else since rominjrection

The keys have just rolled.....gbox doesn't auto update. Let us know whats happening where you live.

I left my box on gbox just to see if it auto updated when the keys rolled & it failed, evocam on the other hand auto updated without a problem.

@mgb:

Here's the debug file you requested, m8. Any valid keys have been scrupulously edited out with xx's.

Prior to this puTTY session, I had gbox AU in SS-Enigma v3 !!

camd and gbox were in /bin and I had edited start_enigma accordingly. The 3 rom7 files were renamed to rom07.b / rom07eep.b and rom07ram.b

I left it to create it's own nagra file, which it did. I didn't time the AU, but it was under 30 mins after reboot. This is not my imagination playing tricks; the nagra file said rom 0B for both keys! (Not the usual rom7)

Sadly, I can't get it to recreate this small miracle, despite leaving the successful setup absolutely untouched.

If someone can lay their hands on the gbox source, I'm pretty sure Cydine will be able to fix the internal rom7 routines, and to share it!!

Cheers- AL

yep definatelly stopped workin on gbox now but evo and mg seem alright ....

prob is only the gbox cam worked flawlessly on my box and mg and avo are chirpy and locky
