If your PSP is broken under normal use and is a UK or Euro model and has not had the security seal broken then Sony will give you a brand new one (well refurbished) and collect your broken one.

Even if yours is a few years old, just tell them you bought it last summer, they do not need a receipt or anything.

Just send them the PSP and battery, some people say you need the charger but others say you don't.

This works guys, if oyur PSP has developed a fault and is out of warranty or you have no receipt just give them a call on the number below and if asked when it was bought make a date up inside the last 12 months and they will send you a new one out. They will need the serial number to check it's a genuine Euro model so have that handy.

This works, people are doing it on a daily basis.

Bollox I have lost the phone numbers. Will search for them now.

Found them:
Sony's number is 08705 998877, or try the cheaper geographic number 01923 653598.

Thos also works for the PS3, although they are all under warranty anyway so pointless.

but don't you have to break the security seal when you first get it?

I think he means the security seal on the actual console unit. i.e. To chip the Wii/360/PS2 you need to open it and that voids the warranty as it breaks the security seal.

this does work tho. also works with mirosoft and nintendo.

Can anyone else confirm this. Didn't realise it worked with them as well.
Is it the same procedure pretty much? i.e. receipt not needed.

check the xbox controller thread mate. tried it successfully with a wii controller but not an actual wii. but no harm giving them a ring. they can only say no.

can anyone else confirm that this does work with older psp as my son has just dropped his and bust the inner screen, and i bought this second hand last year for him? and what info will they need all togther?

Hi,

My nephew bricked his PSP when updating, but rang Sony up and they replaced it few days later.

m8, your not supposed to tell them u did it!

Tell them the joystick aint working, and that players move around without you touching the buttons, tell them this happens on all games (otherwise they'll think its a game issue).

Then when they ask you when u got your psp, give them any date within 12 months. and thts it. You should get a new psp!

What do you mean by 'replaced'?

Is it with a new one or refurbished one?

Is it with a the original fat model or the latest slim model??

Do they come and pick the faulty one up?

Basically, what you need is:

- A PSP
- Original Battery
- Original Charger

All of the above must be UK model.

Then ring them, say you got a problem with the joystick (players move around by them selfs in games), say it happens on all games (otherwise they think its a game fault), they'll say ok we'll replace it for you.

A guy comes to your house, asks for the PSP, Battery and Charger, and gives you a refurbished PSP (It will be same color and model as the one you return)

Thats It!

Hope that helps...

Cheers,

My slimline PS2 has a fault, the power connector is dodgy and you have to wedge the cable at an angle for it to work.

I am going to ring them tomorrow and see if it works on the PS2.

Wish my PSP was a UK model as that is missing the battery cover and the joystick is missing the cover, would be nice to get a refurb in better condition, but it's a jap model so out of luck there.

wow guys this does work lol as i rung them back yesterday and done what was mentioned above and i had a replacement psp at 8am this morning wow how quick was that

How far out of warranty do you mean or doesnt it matter, cant they tell from the serial number or does it need to registered with them for them to know. I have one here thats just over 2 years old...may give it a go.

well mine they just replaced was bought via ebay last year and was over 1yr old then

Rang Sony and they are sending out a refurbished psp with 3 months warranty on Wednesday. Happy days.

Thanks for help guys.
