DVB - PC Cards J-Card

thanks - thats what I was looking for - unfortunately it still doesnt work - tho it does try a lot harder - looks like this cam is toast tbh
 
think mines fooked aswell.still cant get it to connect..:(
 
hmmm...thats puzzling- just managed to kick the cam into life in the floppydtv - it's apparently a green ice with v284gr firmware on (with a couple of expired subs)
 
Were there any special tricks that people used to get this to work?

I've had one Blue Zetacam for a while and it connects fine, the one I've received today - no chance. I get the occasional flash of green light, but nothing sustained.

I can see the cam in the DE CI Tool, and I can read it if I pretend it's a Matrix...

only squeezing the cam with the j-card in place if u get a green flash u got a chance....i think the firmware installed is important should say on the back of the cam
 
Part Number and hardware revision are the same, although some of the labelling is different. In fact the 2nd one was made a day later than the 1st one, if I understand the labels.

The few times I've seen a flash or green, I've frozen, but I'm either not quick enough or something.

It's weird 'cos you'd think that as long as the J-Card pins made contact with those on the CAM, it'd be fine...
 
Just realised that it's my thumb touching certain pins on the J-Card that giving me the green light.

Can't get it to connect, looks like I'll have to try and return it.

these cams seem wierd, sometimes they connect immediately other times not at all. first blue zeta i had would not connect, after weeks of trying i opened it bent it thought i fooked it so i bought a white icecrypt which connected immediately...i tried the blue zeta again and it also connected immediately, never understood why.

i flashed several zetas and icecrypts for members here and also failed on these cams for other members even though they look identical.

it all seems a bit hit or miss.....
 
Yeah, I wouldn't say it was a problem with blue zetacams, my other one connects a dream, I barely even have to squeeze it, just apply the gentlest of pressure.

When you say "opened it up", exactly how? I've had it spread apart enough to peek at the contacts, is that what you mean?

I think Dragon CAM might be the next to try to use with a AU Fun as you don't need to J-Card...

yep pretty much what you've done, but in the end after giving up got so frustrated i bent it and was just going to chuck it over the hedge when i gave it one more go and it connected and still using it today in my pc, the icecrypt is in my media centre
 
Found the files to Joker 0.78 with two Fun4's, and a guide.

I think I've done it right, but it doesn't "pop up" in the CI Tool and ask me if I want to upgrade.

A mate has a drembox - will it do it in that?

From that, I was using the wrong files. I don't have a fun5, so I'll keep my eye out for fun4 versions.
 
Yeah, spotted that before, but the zip file he's posted comes up as corrupt...

Edit: Just tried it again and it's fine, I'll try them tonight.

Nah, just tried it and that zip isn't unzipping...

Does anyone have the three files for the blue zetacam/fun4 method?
