I sooooo much want Scotland to put the Italians out and I believe they can do it, they have the bottle for a scrap and we all know already the results they have had in this group so why the hell not beat Italy, plus they have the crowd which will help them.

But the main reason I think they will win is Johnthehun said they wont.

Totally agree Jaffa................Bottle [ Buckfast ] + Scrap + Johnthehun = Win

:roflmao:

Well i sincerely hope that your next shite is a hedgehog m8.
MON THE JOCKS.....

like it .

Well i hope and think you can actually do the business and i will be cheering your lads on

good luck lads.

England getting through cant really see it now more chance of platting snot.

I hope Scotland win and qualify, guy at work call jock (nickname not derogatory when i first met him he said i only answer to jock) has been bugging me all week i thought he was gonna burst today with excitement. it will be a sorry week next week for him and me if they dont win.....

good luck Scotland and Israel

I say come on Scotland, James Mcfadden to score a double. Why cant they beat italy, they have already beaten france, who are probably a better team than italy. (imo)

If Scotland qualify it might be their biggest ever acheivement. I sincerely hope they do it, partly because they deserve to and partly because I don't trust Italian football. I'm English but I've got to say Scotland deserve to qualify 100 times more than England do. I hope they both squeak through though, because it'll make the tournament much more watchable.

Come on Scotland!

I sincerely hope the Italians win. I'm sure they will as they are only playing Scotland. I can't believe the Jocks think they can beat them. Laughable.
Laughable is it? we played them off the feckin park!!
unscramble these words to make a popular Scottish phrase.
you right get up it
i dont think id be allowed to put "tosser" into that

(another edit) the term "jocks" could be construed as racist.

Well they beat France home and away so its hardly absurd thinking they could pull it off against the Italians. Scotland were unlucky but slipped up big style losing in Georgia, they did excellent in such a tough group though.

Are we still laughin chaps? Parity is restored.

Not laughing but extremely proud of the way our players have played in this qualifying as a whole, not to mention that fact that we were better than Italy tonight and should have beat them. We exit the qualifying rounds as a massively improved footballing nation with a great young team all willing to fight for each other and their country.

On the otherhand we have England, a group of pansies who think they are all the best players in the world. You have sh1te players and a sh1te manager and id 100000000000000000000000000000000% rather exit the way Scotland have than qualify the way and with the poofy performances England have had.

As usual Scotland get a raw deal and England get all the fucking luck. In the group England were in i could have shat out something that would top the group, so yeah you should be over the moon with qualifying.

I was cheering for Scotland yesterday, but they defended like amateurs for the first goal and not much better for the Italians' second. They also got more than their fair share of decisions from the assistant referee. They did really well against France, but yesterday was just a bridge too far.

If Scotland and England swapped Groups maybe Scotland would have qualified and England wouldn't (which still might happen), but Scotland got harder opposition because they were seeded lower. In the World Cup qualifiers, hopefully Scotland will get an easier Group.

In the meantime, come on England and Northern Ireland!

lets just hope all the rhetoric that surrounds the england phenomenon doesnt start happening for scotland - as it did yesterday...

Not all your players are sh1te just most of them. Oh and yes sh1te players can occasionally score good goals too.

What major decisions did we get? We were denied a stonewall penalty at 1-0, and then yes our goal looked marginally offside so that evens things up. If you mean their goal that was disallowed, well that was for handball which if you watch the replay was handball so thats a good decision. Anytime we went near them they got a free kick and then to top things off Alan Hutton gets assaulted when in possession of the ball (watch the replay its a shoulder barge into his face) and Italy get a free kick which they score from.
So yeah name these decisions that went our way then?

unfortunately, scotland dont have much to choose from up front at the moment. They suffer from the same problem the rest of the UK has, not enough home grown talent.

thankfully, England has tonnes of strikers to choose from

im sorry - did you see the same game? Scotland got all the good decisions untill the end. In fact, ther were only two desicions that didnt go their way all night.

Even if the linesmen had been switched on, Italy will have still won.

Also, werent the linesmen scottish?

Again i disagree totally, we have some excellent homegrown talent. Our team is extremely young and we have alot more youngsters who are just waiting to come in.

From the days of Craig Brown where you only got to play if you were 30+ or injured, Scotland now have a great young team who are determined and fighters.

We have now scored against every team in the group and i dont really think we have a problem with strikers. Kenny Miller is sh1te for every club he plays for but put a Scotland top on him and he becomes 100000% better. McFadden is capable of scoring from nothing and we have Boyd who only knows how to score and nothing else.

What decisions? Yes i watched the whole game and was completely sober so name the decisions.

Yeah the linesmen were Scottish :wtf:

hang on, your saying that scotland has a good selection of strikers to choose from?
If that were the case, why play one up front with such a young team?

and also, without trying to sound like a biggot, italy played with a lot of constrait considering that scotland almost fell into their regular habbit of barging players around the pitch for 90 minutes.

dont get hung up on one game, scotland has a lot of potential right now and everyone should be looking forward to the world cup - not what could have happened for euro 2008... If there is an abundance of homegrown talent, then its between then and now it can come to the forefront and shine in time for the next round of qualifiers.

so wha if italy won this one? at least a decent match was played?

Your lack of football knowledge is showing now. We have good young players throughout the team. We know Italy are a better team than us so we played 5 in midfield to try and win the midfield battle and also give our defenders extra cover if needed. WE WERE PLAYING THE FUCKING WORLD CHAMPIONS REMEMBER!

SO if you play 5 in midfield and a goalkeeper you can either play 1 upfront and 4 in defence or 2 upfront and 3 in defence? Agreed?

Seems like the sensible option to play 1 upfront and allow our midfielders to try and attack when possible.

And what has a young team got to do with playing one up front?
