Hi all,

I recently purchased a second hand vu solo for my kids bedroom which had a green light on constantly and output to screen.

I've hooked up a null modem cable and can get output from the box, and it appears to part boot and then says that the flash is empty at a certain address. This to me says the bootloader is ok, but it would appear to have suffered a failed/interupted flash, am i correct in thinking this?

If so, all i should need do would be to try flashing from usb with an appropriate image? I have jtag gear available should the need arise to do it that way, but hoping for the easy route first of all :)

From opening it up, i can see there is a sticker saying its a sunray mini solo;

(The sticker at top left of pic states 2014 3 if that helps?)

My other box is a Ferrari Vu Duo, so i have little knowledge on Solo versions, i see talk of V1/V2/SE/etc so can anyone let me know which version i have? Im running OpenVix Apollo on my Duo, is this available for the solo?

Thanks in advance

Thanks for that Ferret.

The flash process would appear to have worked and waited till i got the green flashing light before rebooting the box. Any idea how long the "unusually long time" is for the first boot, as its been on the VU+ BlackHole starting gui screen for about 15 minutes now?

Sorry for the slow reply, been away for the weekend, just came back to check on the box again and hooked up null modem to see if i could spot any issues and all looked fine, so i then tried the remote again and low and behold the menu came up :)

(this is with the first link btw)

Is there an openvix image available for this box do you know?
