yellow engine light

can anyone help my 02 honda civic td engine light has come on .when this happens its limited to 2and a half thousand revs .when you stop then start again the light stays on but the car drives normal.any help would be appreciated .

Your going to have to take it and get the code read mate so you know what has gone wrong. The car will stay in 'limp' mode till the fault is fixed and the light reset.

airflow meter, you can sometimes clean the contacts but usually it needs replacing
