I'm wondering if somebody could explain the yellow booster to me. Just the basics.

What slope does, and what gain does, and what does it affect on the signal levels...?

Should the screw turners/controls stay flush with the housing, or protrude above it? (I'm wondering if it's faulty/damaged)

Thanks.

Gain = power level
Slope = just allows you to give a higher boost at various frequency ranges, for example you may be experiencing picture drop out on the higher frequency channels, so you can alter the slope to boost around the troublesome range, best bet is to set the gain about half way then have a fiddle with the slope on any channels your having trouble with. if it doesn't sort it, take the boost up a bit higher and try again.

you need to adjust your signal levels in the engineers menu to give you levels between -8dBmV and -4dBmV using the boost and then check problem channels and adjust the slope

Thanks guys, really appreciate the posts.

I shall have another play with it tonight after the football. ;)
