I have two xboxes, a black with an executor 3 and a crystal with an executor 2.

Can someone tell me how I can find out the installed bios/firmware version and then how do I go about upgrading it if I need too?

from what i can remember you needed various softwares and bios files ... evtool , dummy file creator,, spring to mind and a lot of messing around. which is why i used the softmod method and to this day the 2 xboxes i have here are still working without fault.

im sure i have the software and instructions for softmodding on a backup drive somewhere.

All the information you need is here, look under discontinued. They still have the information for X3 and X2 on original xbox.

You might have a problem getting the firmware as I used to download it from xbins IRC. I think they might be on the autoinstall DVD.
