Woohoo, my new toy has arrived. :)

Hi witchy as its a Enigma 2 image have you tried loading any
Enigma 2 Settings with DreamboxEdit

hi witchy what is this like with other HD channels. I used to own a clone dreambox 800 and it drove me nuts on channels like discovery hd with signal breakup. I tried an inline amp and alsorts and never made any difference. Any advice would be appreciated

The EPG is actually better than I first thought.

It's patchy, but I've got EPG for some channels up to the small hours of Saturday morning!

BBC1 Scotland is showing EPG up until 11pm tonight, other non Sky channels are showing a a few days EPG, Sky channels are still only Now and Next.

seem to remember reading about the PLi image reading the Freesat "OpenTV" feed, so i guess it's grabbing data from there.

Edit:
be interested to know if it's getting radio EPG data, Radio 1/1xtra etc..

All HDTV channels are perfect mate.

No glitching at all, easily a much better tuner than the Clone DM800.

The tuner is a Sharp BS2F7VZ0169.

You can install the settings directly from the Download server mate, and a few of the popular channels lists are there.

I will however load a Dreambox E2 list later and see what happens.

I'd imagine it will be fine.

I would if I could mate but the TV/Radio switch isn't functioning yet, lol

Just now I'm locked to TV only.

the open pli image auto reads the 'freesat' EPG, as well as a few others, off the top of my head its in one of the advanced settings, which is why some channels have full epg data, and sly ones dont. The disabled features was a choice made between stability and functionality, and stability was chosen, but, once a feature is re-enabled, itll be pretty bomb proof. i believe audio was the main fix in this mornings image, and the next priority is HDD

i believe audio was the main fix in this mornings image, and the next priority is HDD

If it was then they didn't do a very good job of it mate :)

Pressing the AUDIO button displays 'Audio Selection is not ready!", lol

I really don't mind the missing bits and bobs, afterall I was one of the people wanting it released before the image was perfected, so I've got no reason to be unhappy. Plus it'll be nice to see the machine grow as bits are slowly added to the image.

3 things however, I was surprised to see missing...

1. Media Playback not implemented yet.
2. No HTTP access to the box, so no Web Interface.
3. Video Format not implemented yet, watching a 4:2 image stretched to 16:9 is just awful, lol

I installed my HDD only to find that ther was no support for it, pmsl.

witchy

don't get disapointed.
in last few post from digidud below messages

Functions in TM-800 not ready ::::> now but will be fixed soon
Remote button are
POS/TV-RAD/INSTALL/TV-AV/AUDIO/T.TEXT/SUB-T/TIMER/HDD/REC.LIST/MEDIA
Book mark and all recording functions.
Any function is not ready when requesting will have message:::>Not ready<::::
When each functions gets fixed there will be new image for download,

i have been testing tm800 for some time now from last few weeks tm has done few images and last few days 3 images
I am in contact with tm at least few times a week.
today found out that there will be an other image .I just have to wait and see few surprises.
if you remember it took dream box few years to fix their problems as we know there are still problems .given chance to tm may be few weeks as I understood from last few weeks .
I read all your posts I can not see any point of testing compared to any none Linux boxes.
enigma should be compared to dm 800 or there hd Linux boxes .I have done test side by side with dm800 .
no comparison its miles a part of functions and quality and superiority of tm800 over dm800
that will be fair test as we know tm800 has 60MB image but none Linux software is about 8MB
with so much load it will slow in some section comparing to none Linux.but in total result 100% no comparing to any none Linux box,

I'm not dissapointed mate. I'm very happy to finally have the thing in my hands. :)

Digi said the PVR functions will be fixed next and that's very good news. :)

It'll be good fun watching it slowly come together.

i have a iccle problem Sly 1 HD has that annoying commentry on the audio, how is this turned off?

cheers

You'll find a few movie channels are going to narration aswell.

Currently we can't, although I'd imagine we could select the correct audio stream by editing the services.xml and changing the default stream.

You think that's bad, I was watching a German Scat porno earlier, the commentary was horrendous!

;)

also happening on sly sports hd 1 too, very annoying!! this used to happen on my dbox, it was a simple press of the audio button to take narration off

The software isn't 100% complete mate.

These things will soon be sorted.

I'll go in with FTP and find the correct setting to change to modify the audio.

I've just crashed my box twice in 5 minutes. I changed the skin to Brushed Steel (or whatever it's called), then when you try to go into your Network settings the box crashes to the 'Green Screen of Happiness' and has problem rebooting itself.

lol

lol dont get me wrong i know it will get sorted........I`m just impatient.....overall pic quality is good and it will do everthing i need it to do

Shit, now the box is refusing my FTP connections, lol

I've rebooted it twice and it's still the same.

I'll check my network.

:err:

Steakunkidney, do me a favour mate, can you go into your network settings and select Restart Network, and tell me what happens?

My box just sits there doing feck all until I reboot it.
