windows xp

just installed windows xp everthing is alright except it will not reconise my modem(had to take it of my modem is a v.90k56flex hsp pci is their any way to make it work or do i need a new one any help please

Do u know what the make of the modem is? U'll probably have to download a new driver from the web.

If you have a look on the card there should be some clues as to the manufacturer / model / revision which you'll need to know in order to get the right driver.

Alternatively you could buy a decent modem <img src="wink.gif" border="0">

Hi m8's... Just one further pointer, you probably wont find a label with model no' etc on it, you'll need to look at the larger PLCC's/QFP's (chips) on the board and note the manufacturer and chip number.Good candidates will be Ambient/Intel, Lucent, Rockwell, ESS. Then goto their website and get the driver for that series of chip....Had to do it myself for an install today with an Ambient one in WinXP. <img src="graemlins/EVIL.gif" border="0" alt="[EVIIL]" />

is it a AMR hsp modem riser? if so, new drivers were released on thursday at pcchips.com
