Hardware WiFi card/adapter

Recently had virgin installed and was wondering if I would benefit from changing my laptops WiFi card to a 5G one? it's 2G at the moment. If I would benefit swapping am I better getting a new card or are the usb adapters any good?

The antennas are probably optimised for 2.4GHz, but should still work with 5GHz cards.

Be aware, if you've any wifi dead spots in the house, the signal drop off with 5GHz is more profound than 2.4GHz.
