which transponder

Hi Does anyone know which is the best transponder to be on
Why I ask is I want to watch other programmes whilst recording
but it won't let me because there not on the same transponder
Hope you understand what I mean as I am new to this.

Hi mate - it might be an idea to give us a LOT more info first - i.e which satellite, box, channels, package, etc etc??

I think you may be confusing what a transponder actually is. If you look here Astra 1N at 28.2°E - LyngSat you will see the various transponders on Astra 1N at 28.2° east, they are listed down the left hand side. Each individual transponder can carry multiple channels and it's these other channels that you can watch when you are recording on that particular TP frequency.

The principle is the same for all satellites.
