I have a regular offset dish (not one of the sky digital ones) and need to change the lnb as I'm getting loss of signal on some of the channels. Whilst changing it, I thought I should just put in a quad lnb.

The sky digital quad lnbs seem quite cheap, so can I just use one of these? I've noticed that the thomson, wistron and skyware just seem to have a plastic arm/clip around what just looks like a a regular 40mm collar, so can I just remove the clip and fit it in my 40mm collar? Also is the shape of feedhorn specifically designed for the eliptical sky digital dishes and will this reduce the signal on a normal offset dish?

Alternatively should I just get a dearer quad lnb specifically designed to fit in a 40mm collar.

Finally, are any of the makes better than the other?
