You need to define the standard of playback equipment first of all. For example. you might think that cassette would have the lowest score, but are we talking Sony Walkman or Nakamichi Dragon?
Vinyl for sure.. there is no better warm sound like the sound of vinyl
Also I would vote DCC ...
A friend had a DCC machine back in the day and the quality of reproduction was stunningly good.
I opted for the cheaper Merrantz model rather than the Philips one, but the quality is the same. Not many retail tapes for it, now or then. Blanks were expensive but worth it for the quality.
Just as good these days to record on a cheap sound card with a turntable connected through a pre-amp. Most cheap sound cards can record 24 bit and much better quality than CD.
