What width should a modern day web page be? The standard back in 2011 was around 960 for a desktop.

Has that changed in 2016/2017?

Website i'm creating is or will be responsive but must have a usual starting width? I was going to use 960 but have boosted it up to 1220 with responsive breaks at 720/480 as well.
