video cards broke???

my 28in monitor fell over and broke (shorted out i think) now keeps
blowing fuses in the plug is it possible it fecked my gfx cards up too?
because just changing the monitor i can see again but if i try and play
a game it shuts the pc down
aint changed anything but the monitor
i have 2 nvidia 8800gls
ideas?

Possibly, I had an old monitor that used used to make the back plate on the video card 'live' so I guess there is voltage there.

Very possible and I can confirm that having looked at the PC of a guy who took his frustrations out on his monitor, not only did it take the monitor and card out but the CPU with it also. So anything is possible

hmm i hope its just the card insurance is covering it thank god
thats 800 smackers heading my way just ofr the cards and monitor
if i find the cpu faulty thats another 500 smackers but i would rather
pc was ok
