Laptop power issues

Hi Guys
I have an Acer Aspire Laptop and it keeps shutting down (no power) when I have the AC adaptor plugged in.
It wont work with just the AC plugged in i.e battery removed unless I press really hard on the jackplug.
It only charges my battery if I twist it to a certain position..

I have changed the charger, and it is still the same

Any other ideas?

sounds like the charger socket on laptop has gone, this can be fix but price that depends on what's damaged as at local computer shop for price

PS: what model of acer is it.

Order the dc socket from ebay, it's a plug in type, no soldering required.
