Update slim psp

Hi I've been out of the psp scene for a while, but now I need to update my sons from 4.01m33 to the latest which is 5.50 I think. Could someone tell me what I need please?

Don't quote me on this but as I understand it you can upgrade from where you are to 5.50gen a, the to 5.50 gend and then to Gen d2. Read some of the recent posts on 5.50 which I have posted on - not because I know the answer but because that will have the info from people who do know.

all sorted thanks went straight to gen b, with xgen then to D. Got to wait for CFW 6.xx for the games the kids want to play.
