My Nortan anti virus software has isolated and quarentined what it describes as a jrojan exe file.

What are the definitions of a trojan, I understand that it is a file placed on a persons hard disk without their knowledge but what does it do ?. Does it open ports that the user does not realise are open or does it send information back to the original distributer ?
I am not concerened as my protection detected and prevented it from being activated on my pc.
But would still like to know the theory behind it. 0313.ins is the files name has any one heard of it. I doubt it though as a program can be called by any name ..

I to was wondering about trojans ect so I decided to download sub7 and create a trojan using a tutorial I found, I then used the trojan on my machine and it is really scary the amount of damage you could do to people machines by just selecting different options in the Sub7 program.

Just be glad you have Norton and it was detected before any damage was done m8.
