Transfer to usb slow

Hi guys copying some movies over to usb stick...why does copying go up and then goes down again..not copying continuously?..see vid

Usb 3.0 is much faster than 2.0 and depends on the speed of read and write on the usb stick , see your getting 0 bytes speed on the video think your usb stick is on its way out

its its a verbatim go usb drive ..so im assuming it is old and usb 2.0 ..cheers

Also helps if you use the USB3.x port on the computer which is quicker data transfer speeds than the USB2.1 older version. Check the USB controller in Device Manager if you are noy sure what speed is capable. Also, a USB3.x port is blue coloured (see pic.) and will be indicated by the 'SS' symbol.
