TomTom v7 on Navigo

Updated Map here

Minor update probably not worth the hassle if your stuff working ok.

Sames as before, you need map_name.meta & meta.txt in C:\TTN7 to generate map_name.dct etc.

NB. Batch file and associated files have to be in the C:\TTN7 drive and directory any other place and it wont work.

got it al working on my non widescreen navigo but when i asked it for the closest directions for the hospital it keeps on crashing now

Hi, i currently have TT7,MioMap 3.3,Route 66 and Igo installed and all work with no problems on one 1GB SD card in my Navgo 3.5 V1 i think? I'm currently trying to get Igo 8 to install but having difficulty. My unit has been hacked and also has some Wince games and aps as well. All my sat nav softwares seem quite stable as well?So it can all be done dudes!
Cheers

Thanks BB...got it working now

Just about to get a Navigo, seem's that it was easier to Hack the V1 units, then stick multiple GPS software on them , Mio Map, Tom Tom 7, Route 66 all on the same SD card, a regisrty hack allows you to boot straight to the Windows CE 5 screen then pick what you want from there ,I seen some quite impressive results while trawling the net for info, designer backgrounds ,whole new skins , multiple utilities as well as the GPS stuff :)

Just bought V2 widescreen for my dads Christmas, Followed all the instructions (which were 1st class as usual) but I'm now stuck at the GPS receiver.
Can't remember what I'm meant to do, do you select other NMEA GPS receiver?
if so what should the baud rate be?
and then it states: GPS is connected to:
COM7
serial cable on USP5 Atlas debugging board
serial cable on USP4 Atlas debugging board
serial cable on USP2 Atlas debugging board
What one am I meant to select?
Thanks in advance

It's alright I've got it sorted
Thanks

Can you advise which navigo model number the V2 model is? I am looking at getting it to boot into windows CE but dont know which instructions to follow.
Cheers

For modding the unit, the sites I would recommend are here and here.

Tom Tom 7.910.9185 working on SY885

Follow this thread for details and files.

The simplest update is to replace the existing data.chk and executable and use your existing map. You may need to re-crack your maps with the latest keygen for your maps to work again with this version.

You will also notice he included the 1 GB Western Europe Map 815.2024 ( I got same map & KG from newsgroups alt.binaries.warez.pocketpc ) I used this map as it was more up to date.

Anyway it kinda worked for me, i.e I still sometimes get activation & memory problems. For some reason TT7 has never been stable on my navigo. So I am back to TT6 MM3 & IGO8.

Credit to jake for his hard work.

Not everyone has room for 1 GB Western Europe Map 815.2024
You can also download Just UK & ROI series 8 maps.

TomTom UK and Ireland Maps 815.2024

The maps are available on either of the following links, 1 or 2

Requirements: TT 7 - Works with TTN 7.910

Used first link for map : use tt8_Keygen from previous (thanks Jake) post.

Worked fine apart from not full postcodes solved by Tom Tom Update;

Download & Unzip File install to SDCard.

PS. The original post by Jake alloys you to use Tom Tom Home, it seems to work on all versions even 6. Very wary of updates, as I have heard some horror stories.

Right, for all you Navigo users. I have managed to get v7 going on it. Im using it so far and I got a Mini with a British rooftop flag as my cursor. Wicked!!!

To change the car symbols, ensure you have a directory under mobilenavigator called art then another folder under that called cars. Then download some pics from here and off you go!

Hi pks00, I've got v7 sorted, but when I go to change the car icon the pics folder shows empty. Do I need to follow the instructions on the page you linked to? or should all the .bmp files automatically show for choosing?

Thanks

It's ok...sorted it. The art folder went on the root.

Solved all my TT7 probs by re-formatting to FAT16 in command prompt, with the SD card in the Navigo unit. Previously formatted & copied files in card reader.

Start Menu -> Run ->cmd
format x: /fs:FAT in my case sdcard =g:

c:\> format g: /fs:FAT

This formatted my SD card with FAT16 (no volume label) on the navigo.

Then copy applications, maps to sd card inside unit.

It now works - no memory probs, activation errors, freezes etc. Not sure if its that fact I used the unit instead of card reader or that I made sure the format was FAT16.

Hello mate,

I have followed your instructions line by line but nothing seems to happen. When I install the "mobile navigator" and "Uk & RoI" maps onto my sd card and I get all the correct messages.

I then copy the "TTn7" folder onto drive C: and edit my "device id" with the - in the middle in both lower and upper case but noting seems to happen.

Could you please clarify, I edit the TTN7 folder that is saved on my C: drive and after editing of my device id, I then run the same TTN7 folder from my C: drive. Do I need to run any thing else

I know you gave idiot proof instructions, but it seems they may not be totally idiot proof as I cant get them to work.

What could I be doing wrong, as may well be able to tell I am a complete novice at this

Please help

Just wanted to thank everyone, as by reading all the threads, it became alot more clear on what I was doing wrong.

All the threads were very helpful, THANKYOU ALL

Hi mate.

You do not need any - or . or anything. Just use numbers and letters. What I did was scrubbed everything in between the two quotes which show "XXXXX-XXXXX" or whatever to show "" and then copy/ paste your device ID number in between these to show, for example "ABCDEFG123"

The rest you are doing correct.

Cheers

Thanks for this, gonna give it a go at the weekend, great post
