TomTom 7.9 on PDA with v8.15 Maps- Instructions

Will this work on a ipaq 3970 running win ce 4.2 and tomtom7 from tomtom 6.75 ?

Thanks

Damm and Blast, I had the new map working but then update to 7.9 now I'll have to start again. Thanks for the info anywayhttp://digitalworldz.co.uk/images/icons/icon11.gif

To anyone that has been pulling their hair out, trying to get tt7.9 to run on HTC touch diamond then here is the solution, just install this one cab file on the device - job done! then of course you need to sort your maps out ;)

I was getting that same message about maps 'not activated' when using 7.4,
using the 7.9 cab file solved the problem. I'm using it with v8.15 maps. (UK Ireland v815.2024 ) along with these tools
Easyusetools_for Keygen_Mapcheck_Metacheck.

Just want to thank devil666x for all his efforts.

Regards,

David

Hi Devil,

I wonder if you can help me out - my head's buzzing and I'm getting very confused!

I have a Samsung Omnia I-900 running Windows 6.1 and an internal 8GB memory. I've got very confused with all of the different versions and so don't know what I'm doing at present! What I have got is as follows;

UK.Ireland.815.2024 (with the folder "Easyusetools_for Keygen_Mapcheck_Metacheck" which contains the folders; "insert_meta_from_Map_here", "Progs", "ttsystem_Patcher" and files "DeviceID", "RunMeforAllAutomatic", "RunMeforDCT" and "RunMeforMetaKey").

TTN7.450.9028_repack which has 8 files and an XML document called "_setup".

Easyusetools_for Keygen_Mapcheck_Metacheck_ttsystempatcher as well as the one above.

I also have vga.7.910.9185.black.

As mentioned, I cannot seem to open the attachments on your posts so do not know how to find my device ID.

I'm sure you have a large demand on your time but hope you can give me a very simple idea as to what I need to do and if there is anything else that I need?

Lastly, I have the Western_and_Central_Europe_2GB download (most recent I believe) - would I be able to put that on at all?

Many, many thanks in advance!

No worries mate. It seems like you have all the files that you need apart from tomtom home. That you can download from tomtoms homepage. Then connect up the device and get your device code by clicking on the system info tab right at the top of tomtom home.

Once you have the device code, just follow the instructions step by step. i THINK fr the omnia its a bit more complicated, there is a post on this thread that explains how to do it but a guy at work has installed this on the omnia and will ask him tomorrow exactly how.

If you get stuck let me know, also post your results after you done it to let us know if it worked or not.

Excellent - thanks.

I'll give it a go and will feedback what happens - let's hope there's not a large mushroom cloud over SE England! :Yikes:

Cheers.

Good news Devil! After much headscratching, I managed to get it all loaded ok and up and running on my Omnia.

However, there are a couple of problems;

1) I cannot get a GPS signal. Earlier in this thread somebody mentioned that they had got it working by using another GPS connection (NMEA or something similar). I tried that at the suggested settings and it almost picked up a signal, but after several minutes nothing more. You previously mentioned that for an Omnia, you need to download GPS Gate. I've found that on the net - can you confirm where I install it and any setting up I need?

Also, by using this, does it cost i.e., is it classed as internet usage or the like?

2) There are no voices, but presumably these can be downloaded from somewhere?

Oh, lastly, somebody also mentioned using Google maps - is that something connected with TomTom, or a separate thing via the Internet connection?

Thanks for all of your help.
