Hey folks

I need to disable the wireless function of my technicolor tg582n modem so I can connect my own wireless router to it. searching online I can't find a definite answer to this..wondering if anyone can shed any light?

my old virgin 'super hub' (nothing super about it!!) was fairly straight forward, but this one is proving to be quite tricky...any help will be greatly appreciated.

connect to the network (presumably wired).

Run: cmd, ipconfig, look for "default gateway", probably 192.168.1.254 (default for Technicolor's is NOT 192.168.1.1).

In the settings (assuming you have any required passwords): go down to "Home Network", select "Wireless:" (not the actual client, the actual "Wireless:" heading should also be a link), then choose "Configure" on the far right, one of the options should be "Interface Enabled", just Untick and "Apply".
