Switching to Oscam from Cccam

Im really strugling with this im using a dm500 i can get pli image oscam 6574 and cccam 213 to work ok just using oscam with my sis and brother using cccam timing lot better im wanting to put this on darkstar2 image as its the only image i can get to go straight into standby after reboot i carnt even get it to clear in my dreambox using oscam 7313 and cccam 213 downloaded from tspanel not sure if this is for e2

Just want to say a big thank's to beechtree and of cause the folks who advised him.

With the aid of this thread and beechtree's post in thread Dummies guide? SETTING UP OSCAM ON A DM500S FOR USE WITH *** UK found here I have also manged to convert my Vu+ Duo server running VIX OE3.0 to Oscam (v7505) alone + leaving my clients on cccam (ohh and the whole weekend spent looking into to it).

Just show's how this setup with various boxes DM500s (enigma1), DM800se and VU+ Duo (enigma2) are very similar.

Getting used to and enjoying the new Oscam's webif, I guess router port 8888 has to be opened to be able to access outside network?

Just a few more tweeks and all should be good, server has disconnected a few times but finally getting there!

: thanks :

in Oscam

what would happen if i was to set

[account]
uniq = 0

and

[global]
Dropdups = 1

the norm would be Uniq =1 Dropdups = 0

is it me or these 2 options very similar!

Appears to be mate, the first prevents multiple connections and the second drops a duplicate connection attempt, according to what I've read anyway. Potato potarto..?

been messing with Oscam server (not cccam) and getting some very strange results

Oscam to me isnt as robust with connections as cccam is

ive tried very latest oscam svn and some older ones and all the same

example...

OScam server only set up to receive c clines (cccam protocol enabled)

a client/receiver connects to oscam server fine

you then pull the power plug from the client/receiver, oscam server still thinks the connection is live, so when the client/receiver comes back online it treats it like a duplicate connection and denies it and if you have failban on it will ban the client.

This also happens when client/receiver end router resets and pulls a new IP address from ISP - OScam doesnt know how to handle this

This is very annoying and an issue that has been about for a while but no fix

now this doesn't just happen when you pull the plug, but also sometimes when client/receiver is watching FTA and quickly go to a PPV channel then back to FTA and back to PPV channel, it sometimes thinks its a duplicate connection

Code:
You don't have permission to view the code content. Log in or register now.

just wanted to know if anyone has experienced the same thing or is it only me?? theres a bug somewhere im sure!

Just tested this mate, on my set up I have uniq = 1 but dropdups is not included anywhere in my configs.
I tried all the scenarios that you're having problems with but I found everything worked ok, no glitch at all. Maybe you could try removing dropdups from your config?

thanks for trying this mate

what oscam version are you using?

so when you pull the plug on a receiver on your network, wait 10secs, plug receiver back in, checking oscam webif, it just simply reconnects again with no errors like above? and also when taking the ethernet cable out for 10secs?

ive tried it with uniq =1 and dupdrops = 0 and it happened alot, not just for me but for few other of my mates who are using the server, i can see them disconnecting then it tries to connect them but thinks its a duplicate connection. they are not pulling the plug from their power though so no idea what is going on. they are ising them normally, albeit all are using Blade 7000 receivers. Failban will eventually ban them so have to keep checking this.

I'm using Oscam 1.20 unstable_svn build #6611 downloaded from TSPanel. As you can see below it reconnected no problem. When I took the ethernet out it didn't even register the reconnection, just kept ticking over, picture came back on as soon as I plugged the cable back in.

you are achieving what i call the holy grail at the moment! :p:p

your using oscam only server yeh? can i see your configs please?

ok doing more tests i find that it works best when i have uniq =1 and dropdups = 1

ive just built a new ubuntu server with only oscam for testing

heres what i get:

Code:
You don't have permission to view the code content. Log in or register now.

basically, receiver connects fine

i pull the plug, it starts up and oscam knows its a dupe, so it drops the connection that was there and lets the new connecton take over, meaning no failban or multiple disconnects and tries

ok the above was using newcamd with uniq =1 dropdups =1

ive just tried using cccam protocol and get this (with uniq =1 dropdups =1)

Code:
You don't have permission to view the code content. Log in or register now.

basically from 17:13:02 to 17:14:29 it tries to connect but cant because its a duplicate user, then the server allows the connection.

trying uniq =1 dropdups = 0 next with cccam....

thanks beechtree mate, much appreciated!

think i found the culprit

"clientmaxidle"

default is = 120s

changed to 10s and now upon reset of receiver channels are on instantly with no disconnect warnings

more testing to follow!

anyone know if clientmaxidle = 10s is ok? wont make things more worse will it?

Try this change
clientmaxile back to = 120s
add dropdups = 1 in oscam.conf
For the culprits whos causing the problems only change them to uniq = 3 in [accounts]
let me know if this helps
Are these people using sly or bt internet

I tried this a few days ago. Didn't work.

Well it happens to a box at home which is V!rgin and also some mates who are on sly Internet.

Today is first time I'm using ClientMaxIdle at 10s and already seeing an inprovement from the brief testing I did before

Don't understand why no one else is getting this issue though

I believe cccam uses 10s idle time too?

Could someone check this config for me please.
I'm using a dm500 and its clearing everything ok in the box but i cant get it to share to my Vu duo in the other room.

Its ok guys i've sorted it. I used to have the card in the duo but switched it to the dbox for testing and forgot to change my cline internal ip to the dreambox one

Would you pls help me to change from CCcam to OScam, I want to stop using CCcam and began using OScam. I have 4 C-lines from my friends and to local cards, how should I use there ip, usernames and passwords on OScam? Where should I put the C-lines, usernames and password? They hace some local cards and we share our cards by CCcam 221 and want now to do the same with OScam, how we can do that? Pls help

Just a simple N line needs to be added to cccam cfg to link it to the Oscam card server and an account with the same username and pass needs to be created in Oscam.user file. The f lines stay the the same and there is no need to give out new c lines.

N: 127.0.0.1 10000 username password 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 14 256

If I've understood right then it would be in Oscam/CCcam setup

In Oscam User

[account]
user = username
pwd = password
group = 1,2
uniq = 1
caid = 0963
ident = 0963:000000
au = 1

And in Cccam Cfg

N: 127.0.0.1 10000 username password 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 14 256
F : Username password

and a coressponding C: line to client

So a total of 4 lines

Or am I wrong??????????

Anyone?

Just can't get my head around this

Sorry m8 meant to answer this yesterday :(

You need to enable newcamd protocol in oscam.config

[newcamd]
key = 0102030405060708091011121314
port = 34000@0963 #you can chose what port you like,and card caid

Nline in CCcam.cfg

N: 127.0.0.1 34000 user pass 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 14

And matching user with details from the nline, i.e user,password & port, in oscam.user

:)
