stuck on start up

my alien 2 is stuck on start, just shows 2 cogs, son says he hasn't touched any setting please help.

thanks for the reply, I can boot into spark but not enigma, just says start on box , with 2 cogs in top left corner. ive e-mailed the seller shop, awaiting reply.

if you can boot into spark you can reflash an enigma2 image from there then reboot back into enigma2. if nt sure how to do it let us know.

if not:
download this to usb: E2upgrade plugin for use via spark on Alien 8900 - Downloads - Digitalworldz

it should prompt you "do you want to install plugin" click yes, it will install and reboot. while rebooting take out usb stick and delete the file or it will ask you every time.

unpack and copy to a folder on the root of the usb, folder can be named anything but must have the two files inside: e2jffs2 and uImage

Stick the usb in the amiko and go to plugins and click upgrade enigma2 (or something similar to this) it will show up storage C, click this and select the folder you saved the files in and click the red button.
if uploaded properly (amikos are fussy) you should be able to boot back into enigma again.

cheers, I now have enigma running but looks nothing like what I had, not sure how do settings etc, plus I had ALL channels now not.

Its probably a different image from what you had, i find this one the most stable. You will need to update the channel list to something more recent and add in your clines.
Need any help let us know.

I think that instructions for flashing with a null modem cable. Have you the box connected this way?

You can also flash from enigma in usb I'm pretty sure first boot to enigma using switch and ok button followed by menu down which gives you force then enigma
Let that do its thing and of course nothing happened so next step turn off at back insert usb in rear with image on do reset button job again but select right this should load from usb seems to take a while but I have only done this in spark and never tried doing this in enigma always used the e2 plugin
