Sponsorship scam

This one is really personal to me I guess, but I'm running the London Marathon and have my details on a website. Some guy emailed me saying that he was going to sponsor me £1,000, but he would send me a cheque for £4,000, and I would have to send the rest of the money to three other people who he was also sponsoring. He was foreign I guess, but I don't know from which country.

When I told him that I would gladly be sponsored by him for £1,000 but could not distribute his money, I never heard from him since.

Any idea what he was up to? Whatever, I'm sure I'd end up £3,000 down!

sounds like the Nigerian scam were they offer you a fee to use your bank account to launder money then clean you out the old saying IF IT SOUNDS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE THEN ITS A SCAM

Its really a shame that u cant trust anyone even when it comes to charity work,i would just forget it m8.....
