Sky News has announced that new DekoCast character generators from Pinnacle Systems have been installed at the channel's headquarters in Isleworth.

Sky already uses 12 FXDeko II systems and a DekoCast Authoring Station to produce graphics for Sky News and Sky Sports. The new character generators will be used to provide breaking news content to be displayed between scheduled programming on Sky News International, a new global feed of Sky News expected to go on air this summer.

"Our ongoing deployment of Pinnacle's Deko solution has resulted from four years of sustained delivery, not only in the quality of the products' output but also in the dependable support we have received from the company," said Mark Crawford, head of broadcast computing at Sky. "The simplicity in making solution upgrades and the ease in which the product can be integrated in to other broadcast systems have also proved significant benefits."
