I seem to be having major issues regarding my skybox f5s connecting to my bt homehub 4

when i start up the skybox it's taking approx 30 mins to connect to the internet have tried rebooting router changing the dhcp settings to off and on etc on the sky box but nothing anyone know a solution to this

I'm using Ethernet by the way straight to the router not wireless

if you have a server that might be the problem if not try re flashing with new firmware

if u have the latest firmware go into apps and try you porn or you tube if these work then server is problem sometimes this happens with dodgy cheap grade ethernet cable too

I also found this was happening to me with my bt homehub 4 router mine would take upto 30 mins to unscramble the channels I done a factory reset on the router and it resolved the issue for the time being anyway

one thing I have noticed if anyone could help on my router I notice that the ethernet port connected to the skybox f5s is only 10mb does this seem right as I thought the skybox has a 100mb ethernet port

You won't need 10mb for the box anyway so shouldn't matter. Often rebooting them works, i've known router with faulty ports too.

Always worth checking youtube works as brin said above. Swapping out all the differnt aspects until it does is the best bet - cable, ports, router itself - then you'll know for sure.

I thought it was a fault with the ethernet ports on the bt home hub 4 so contacted bt and they have sent me another one

well guess what the same thing still happens every now and then up to 30 mins to unscramble don't happen all the time though just every now and then I'm starting to wonder if there needs to be ports open etc as think this could be firmware related

anyone else experienced this

have you tried to connect wirelessly i had so many wifi timeout issues then i changed security setting and it works fine
