Ripping dvd to avi or mp4

I'm looking to take one of my genuine dvd collections and drop it into a tablet to take on holiday. I'm find it hard to find the downloads of the files as it's the original battlestar Galactica. I've got dvdfab 9 and a trail or freeconvertor bit it's a trail only. Anyone got any better newer software or quicker software. I've saved the first one as avi files.

I use Any Video Converter. It's free and does everything I need it to.

Yeh I had to boot up my old pc to find my existing software. Every time I find a feed for the original stuff someone's uploaded the more recent remakes. I've got some seriously long flights coming up and this might help. Ps ferret I'm away for the man city game

Il be 3 hours into a flight to San Francisco. If I have done my homework I can get WhatsApp messenger internet for a fiver on the plane to keep in touch.
