In the Lounge I currently run a Sony Android Smart TV with the IPTV streamed through the app ‘STb emu’ from an IPTV Provider. As I sometimes have to retire to the bedroom, I asked the Provider if I could also use a MINIX 7 connected to a Standard Sony TV in the bedroom to provide the same service. His response was – If I could edit the MINIX MAC address in the STb emu app to that of the Android TV then it would be possible, but NOT for use at the same time.
I could, and did edit the MAC Address, and the system has worked well for the past few years.
I now need to replace my aging MINIX with a new IPTV Box, but I understand that not all the current Android boxes allow me to change the MAC address, if not which Android Box should I consider ?
