Recording on 6800HD Super via EPG

I sometimes use the EPG to setup timed recordings using a USB stick.
If I change to another channel before the recording starts the system quite correctly switches to the one due to record at the allotted time. What doesn't happen is the recording, nor am I able to "manually" record. If I powr off and power on the box the timed recording seems to start.
Has anyone else had this problem ?

Put in the time manually. there is a glitch with the EPG timing recording
