problem i think with sp3

Computer hard drive died and had to do a complete start from scratch. Am running XP and of course its loading all the updates from windows, all fine but when it comes to Service Pack 3 after installing it i can access internet but when i log onto sites like facebook after the login page it just goes back to that again and wont actually go into the site, did a restore back to before and works fine. Any ideas before it installs the service pack again as it keeps trying to???

Have you got a copy of XP install CD with SP3 built in, there are plenty floating around.

no dont have a copy, dont fancy installing from scratch all over again though

its only when i install sp3 as soon as i restore back to before the install its fine

yes its been downloaded as part of windows update

Is it part of Windows Security Centre maybe?

Tried turning off security features in your browser and Control Panel?
