hi guys - If i buy an item from a someone selling on a forum, ie a member and pay via paypal...am i i covered in any way if the guy fails to deliver the item or scams me in some way ?..the item is in spain and is available to buy on the "for sale" section in a forum, the seller accepts paypal as in his ad description...ta

i don't think so, if its not a traceable sale.
what i mean is something like ebay, you have a record of the item listed and sold and the buyer.

contact paypal they may be ok, seeing that you sent him money. and if he can't produce a receipt for shipping may give you a refund.

no mate, i think u misunderstood, im not buying from ebay, its a private sale through a forum....i havnt yet sent any money, i was just wondering what would happen if i sent the money to him via paypal and he doesnt post the item or something like that....will i be covered by paypal?

You will be able to open a claim with PayPal providing you don't pay as a gift
