nokia dbox changing channels on its own

I have just been given a faulty nokia dbox x2 that changes channels on its own as soon as you boot it up it works for about 5 min the start changing channels i have tride other images and removed the battries out of the remote just in case but still have the same problem any body got any ideas on this one

First thing I would try is to pull the power, whip the lid off, then remove all the ribbon cables from the front panel where they connect to the mobo- give the ends a good clean, reconnect them- and try again. Cheers- AL

try changing the batteries in the remote control. I've had this problem before and it solved it.
