No cable in house

Hi, just moved house recently and it has no cable tv wiring, seems like the whole town is no cable just sky and freeview. Could I hook up a box like a dreambox500s and a mini dish that sticks to the window outside or scaffold bar and get full package like cable>?< sorry new to sky so please be patient with me. I have tried searching but no joy, help anyone.

Hi...........u could but to be honest you would only get Free to air channels on the sly satellite 28.2e, if you wanted to get the movies and sports u have to pay for them.

A dreambox would be wasted on just sly really, u would be better of getting a sly digi box second hand one on fleabay from £20 new ones around £80-100.

Free to air dose not include channel 4 or 5 u would need a sly fta card at £20

You won't get any channels bar the free to view channels, bbc1 2 etc, not channel 4 or 5 as they are free to view, not free to air.

The encryption Sky use (NDS Videoguard) isn't cracked yet, the only way would be to C/S but that would usually require you sharing another card as such.
