Hi i'm getting my mrs a wii for her birthday.My mate who is good on these says he can chip it by swapping the drive for an earlier one .Is this ok ? will i have any problems ? I know nothing about the wii any help would be appreciated cheers

i dont know much but i thought the wii was chipped with a chip the xbox 360 is a drive hack

what he means is fit a old wii drive in a new wii and fit a wii key in old drive insted of the dreaded dc2 chip
ive read up on it before it is supposed to work never tried it though yet

swapping wii drives works just fine, you can even swap drives with a console from another region, the drives are not locked to a console or a region as the console controls the region.
