I'm trying to make a decision between the Asus Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 AMD 990FX (Socket AM3+) DDR3 Motherboard and Asus Crosshair V Formula Z AMD 990FX (Socket AM3+) DDR3 Motherboard. Everyone had nothing but praise for the Sabertooth 990FX but not sure about the Crosshair V Formula! Price difference is about £40 but I wonder if it is worth it?

CPU wise I'm going for the AMD 8350 FX 8 Core 4.0Ghz which I hope to be overclock every now and then but most time will keep at standard speed.

Same Chipset and Southbridge. So it's the differences and extras that are going to sway it. For example, the Sabertooth sports 3x PCI-e 3.0 slots (though PCI-e 3.0 cards are backwards compatible with PCI-e 2.0 slots)

The Sabretooth seems to be more about durability as for the Crosshair it supports faster Ram about 2133 compared to only 1866 on the Sabretooth. Even when I rang to overclockers they told me that the Crosshair provides more stable overclocking. I doubt if I will be pushing the setup much as I will either stick to air cooling or basic water cooling setup so pushing the 4.0ghz processor just to anything between 4.4 and 4.8 though getting 5.0Ghz would be nice.

Well finally put on the throttle and decided to finish building a new rig.

At this point I've ran out of money so the dual 29" monitors will have to follow up next month :)
