So with work I am getting involved in a Hyper-V "cloud" project. Really interesting stuff and want to do the relevant MS exams etc. I decided a month or 2 ago I would build a home Hyper-V host and create a lab. Here is my setup.
Asus P8Z77-V Intel Z77 ATX Ivy Bridge Socket 1155 4x DDR3 PCI-E3.0 RAID CrossFireX SLI USB3.0 SATA3 WirelessN Onboard VGA/DVI/HDMI/DisplayPort
Intel Core i5 2400 Sandy Bridge 3.1GHz 6MB Cache LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Processor (dont need i7 really)
Corsair 16GB (4x4GB) DDR3 1600MHz CL9 Vengeance Memory for AMD, Intel Dual Channel DDR3 CMZ16GX3M4A1600C9B
OCZ Agility3 120G SATA3 2.5" Solid State HDD (SSD) (Max Write up to 500MB/s ) , SandForce 2281 Controller - OS drive
WD Caviar Blue 1 TB SATA Hard Drives ( WD10EALX) x 2 - Storage yet to buy
Thermaltake V3 Black Edition Mid Tower Case With 500W PSU Rear 120mm silent fan with brilliant Blue LED
Corsair TX550M Enthusiast Series Modular, 550W ATX PSU, Active PFC, Black - yet to buy. The case came with a PSU that will do for now.
Built it yesterday, took me about 2hrs. I need to get a bracket for the SSD so it will fit in the 3.5" drive bay. Booted to BIOS first time!
Well chuffed...
