has anyone else ordered a openbox s9 hdpvr from maxsat and recieved a skybox s9 hdpvr as my son just has and the tuner is faulty it finds no program in search I uploaded my tp_prog on it and just get no signal on all channels

Go to menu->antenna setup->transponder and move left or right until (hopefully) you find a transponder with signal. Then exit and presto...
Mine does it all the time and this trick do the job.

I had a similar problem with my box, it would fail on scanning a few transponders, but, I had to get the LNB replaced in the end and rewire the coax, now it works OK.

hi swanny that cant be the problem because my openbox works fine at my address where i set up this skybox s9 it just doesn't even fail just gets no signal
but when he got it home and did a scan he got some channels and then after 20 mins lost bbc1 but still had bbc2 so that sounds like a tuner fault to me ?

Sound like a dry contact somewhere on the tuner, If these are the same as the openbox, you will have to send the mainboard back for repair.
