hi guys, i have a Dlink setup as follows.

DLINK 4300 gaming router

pc 1 via gigabit ethernet cable in to router
pc 2 via gigabit ethernet cable in to router
sony vaio laptop connected via Wireless nic

everything is working sweet, router recognises all of them.

now ihave a DLink Ethernet bridge DWL G810 which is connected to the the Xbox. i have set a static IP on the bridge and configured it on the laptop via ethernet port. set SSID, set the public sharekey and i can ping the bridge. now heres the part thats driving me up the wall. wot do i do next? wot settings do i use for the xbox, it is modded and uses the Evox Slayer dashboard.

what do i do next, any help will be much aapreciated.

many thanks in advance.

Elite,

I've got a similar but different setup...

Setup hidden in TV cabinet...

D-link wireless router connected to modem (Router IP 192.168.0.1)
Xbox connected to Router via patch lead (static IP of 192.168.0.3)
Dbox2 connected to router via patch lead (Static IP of 192.168.0.4)

Setup in upstairs bedroom....

PC connected via wireless / WPA Security (static IP of 192.168.0.2)

Everything works great, I can surf the internet via the Xbox, stream movies from the PC over the wireless onto the Xbox and Dbox, cpature Dbox2 picture and display on PC over wireless, and it's all hidden away in my TV cabinet. :)

i managed to do the same, so i thought take it one step further and gow wireless i saw a guide but forgot to save the link and now i cant find it again.

tried various forums, everyone sais easy peasy ask em how n its like um.....i did but i cant remember how!

if u come across a guide of somesort let us now :)

thanks.

Give the xbox an IP addess as well, and in the gateway use your server IP address

I.e mine is

Wireless Bridge = 192.168.0.253
Xbox = 192.168.0.5
NAT gateway = 192.168.0.100

easy as that:)

hmmm....sounds similiar to mines.

Xbox = 192.168.0.254
Wireless Bridge = 192.168.0.30
Router = 192.168.0.1

for wireless bridge i set up a static DHCP including mac address. in order for router to recognise the bridge.

under wireless both the bridge and my vaio laptop are shown. should the xbox show up as well?

at this point i cant ping the bridge anymore, im lost now.

on the xbox wot dns settings should i use?

do u have msn messeger? any chance of helpin me on that?

thanks mate

Xbox DNS should be your router IP, all DNS's should be your Router IP.

Hi, just a quick update on wireless bridging. Ive finally managed to crack it. Its working i can FTP in to the box. Streaming is the next step, one thing at a time. I will write a guide in plain English so people can understand.

thanks everyone for your help.

:THANKS:
