iv got that exact media player nara has stated and its a great bit of kit, netflix works a treat on it, also a fair few more apps like tune in radio which i use alot, works well wirelessly providing you have decent broadband, mine 20meg and its spot on, also can connect to any network drives you have, i have mine mapped to my nas drive and it streams perfectly from it!

1st, 2nd, jailbroken, not jailbroken, xbmc??? and why, iv looked into them myself a few times but never took the plunge!
 
Well, the 3g is the latest, 1080p but not properly jailbroken yet. I took the gamble that it would be eventually and bought one.

A jailbroken 2g will do everything you need, and an unbroken one will do it all with some conversion or transcoding of your movie files to an apple friendly format. If you have an iphone or iPad, then screen mirroring is another reason to consider the Appletv.

Netflix is an official app, no jailbreak required.
