You need a logger !
Unfortunately you cant just connect the serial stream from the card into a PC (different baud rate on each box type and non-standard anyhow) so you have to use a processor to buffer. Most also feed to the PC parallel port as you can then feed out to the PC faster than any stb serial stream is likely to run.
Most loggers tend to use an AT90S8515 processor (same as funcard) but the program is fairly simple so you could use pretty much any processor.
All the logger program does is sit and wait for serial data (from card or box) and then shove it out on a pseudo parallel port.
If I remember correctly the logger design/software was by an outfit called something like Swiss Cheese productions.
