leister hot air gun 110v

hi guys
i have a leister triac hot air gun thats not working, i'm convinced that the thyristor is blown but not 100% certain how to check it. i have a digital multimeter
for testing. part no. of thyristor is Q8025L6 . should it read as pnp or npn or is that just for transistors. any help would be appreciated as parts for these babies are pretty dear if i have to replace the whole circuit board as recommended by a local dealer
