hi,
I have been keeping koi a few years now and it is a full on hobby when first starting as the learning curve is huge.
saying that though it is a very worthwhile hobby as you can't beat sitting by the pond on lazy summer day with a drink watching and hand feeding the koi.
a couple of pics of my pond.
In second pic notice the net that is due to heron eating some of my koi.
advice to previous poster net your pond if you have seen a heron around it as it will come back, I had seen a heron at pond side years before it ate my koi but assumed the depth had prevented it from getting fish so never took precautions.
