change your pc ip to
192.168.1.201
and make sure its set to 10baseT_halfduplex
and when you get this type
dbox2:root>boot net
then press enter
see if it flashes then.

sorry to hijack this thread but i had the same problem and just wanted to say thanks for the tips!

bugger

I seem to have screwed up my dbox in the same fashion. usually get IFA to work no problem when i have done this in the past but for some reason its not working. can anyone make sense of this log. I have tried the things Fergalsworld mentions but dont seem to be working. just out of interest i am doing this via a router but when i plug a cable direct from pc into dbox there is no connection at all.

es wurde zehb mal vergeblich versucht die dbox vom netzwerk ze starten. bitte uberprufen sie ihre Netzerkkonfiguration, Resetten sie die dbox fur einen erneuten Versuch

the above message comes up when i try changing the ip address to 192.168.1.201. i am guessing this its saying something to do with the network and resetting something on the dbox... but am a wee bit stuck......football's starting as welll....... could greet....

What a fud... seriously....was not working via router for some reason.not sure if firewall interferes or not..... in anycase completely forgot that it has to be a crossover cable you need to use fir link between pc and dbox directly. Once i did this is worked first time. Praise the lord. Just in time to Argentina score....
