i tried the portable ifa, still no joy. anyone got any ideas.

I know this may sound stupid have you changed the batteries in the remote control ? the batteries may be flat my dreambox done the same

the box won't boot up mate, it hooks into ifa for about 20 seconds then goes into a continious reboot loop. does any know what chips could be responsible for this and i could swap them out with another nokia box i have that is fooked.

Use both crossover and nullmodem cable
set your networkcard to 10baseT_halfduplex give it a static ip of 192.168.1.201 and subnet 255.255.255.0
disable antivirus, firewalls and any other network cards including wireless
turn box on start the flash process then turn box off then on again

tried what you said with the static ip, firewall, switching it off and on. still no joy. i tried it on my laptop also, still no joy.

Did you set your networkcard to 10baseT_halfduplex aswell

yes mate, i always use 10base half duplex. i reckon the box is seriously fooked. how would it hook into ifa then reboot. i've never seen a box do that before. the problem was always hooking into ifa in the first place.

Hi mate, I had the same issue with my Nokia, best thing is to restore the image with a fresh bootloader, by using just the null modem cable and the process should take around half an hour, but it did the trick for me.

Hope this helps (i'm trying to think of what the software was called)

You dont open the u-boot mot file read the guide, also the last command you type in
cp.l the l is a lowercase letter L not a 1 one

now i know youve used this method lol, many peeps make a mistake on that
I have never had to use it m8 but as you say nearly everyone makes that mistake
which is a pisser as it takes about 30 mins to get to that point and they wonder why it wont go any further lol

i've give it a go tonight. tried to sort a yellow screen of death ps3 at the moment.

I'm not gonna tell you how long it took me to get my old head around creating linux SymLinks for that very same reason, Fergal...

In -sf (I as in I'm stupid) instead of ln -sf (l as in Al is a lost cause, LOL!)

Cheers- AL ;)

followed the instructions to the letter. everything went smoothly. until i rebooted the box. still doing the same thing. i'm sooo dissapointed, i really thought that was going to work. i thought i was on a roll after fixing my mates yellow screen of death ps3.

anyone konw of common ics to change for this sort of problem.
